Tethered Cord

A defect in the fusion of the spinal processes and laminas seen in spinal bifida occulta. Sometimes the spinal cord is trapped at the level of the defect and may produce neurologic dysfunction. The spinal cord can also become entrapped in scar tissue that results from injury, surgery or disease process.
